Smokey eyes sometimes look easily brushed on but they are not always the simplest looks to execute. How high are you supposed to blend the shadow? How many shades should you use to get a notice-me dimension? What colors will perfectly accentuate in your eyes? There are some tricks from makeup artist by which you will not only apply your smokey eye in seconds, but also you will find a look that is perfect for your eye shape. Here are some instructions for 6 different eye shapes.
1. Asymmetrical Eyes:
Create an illusion that the smaller eye is lifted and larger by extending the dark shades higher toward your eyebrow bone that is smaller. Try the light lavender and plum shades found in cosmetics Baked Eye Shadow Palette in “Seattle”. Use a kohl pencil to line your lower lash line from the outer corner inward three-quarters of the way and then trace your waterline with a cream pencil.
2. Close-Set Eyes:
By this key, close-set eyes will appear wider apart than they are. Start by applying a light iridescent shade from the inner corners only, which will help to look wider apart the eyes they are. Apply a medium-colored shadow from the center of your lids to the outer corners of your eyes and use a deeper shade in the crease for depth. Finally, line the inner rims of your eyes with a waterproof eye pencil.
You can create a depth by using a dark shadow by applying on the line with the curve of your eyeball. At first, apply a base shade and then apply a darker shadow from the outer corner of your eye using a domed brush, tapering it in as you reach the start of your lashes. Then diffuse the light and darker shadows with a medium shade. Then thickly line your upper lash line and finish by running with a waterproof black liner along your lower lash line.
4. Wide Eyes:
Wide eyes offer a lot of space to work and can handle a lot of look. Apply a gunmetal shadow from lash line to the crease using a domed brush and then diffuse any hard lines with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Swirl it around a matte bronzer to contour the crease by blending everything. This not only adds warmth-tone to the eye, it offsets the natural shadow of the brow bone.
5. Small Eyes:
Keep the shades you use on the lighter side to widen small eyes. Apply a lighter shade on your eyelid from lash line to crease and a medium shade in the same color family along the crease by extending it past the outer corner to elongate the eye. Do not line the inner rim of your lower lash line and opt for nude waterproof eyeliner to make the eyes appear larger.
6. Almond Eyes:
Use a shimmery shade from lash line to crease to accentuate your almond eyes. Apply bronzer in the crease of your eye to intensify using a blending brush and give a smokey effect to your eyes. Apply the shimmery shadow using an angled brush, along your lower lash line to add a dramatic effect. Finally, line the upper inner rim of your lower lash line with a black waterproof eye pencil and use a waterproof pencil to draw even more attention to your eyes.
